Howdy,

Instead of a history page somewhere on the website, we decided to make a news post that talks about how far we have come in just a few months and where we are headed in the future. So, let's jump right in.

The Past

Our First Steps

Our first service, before we had a name or even an intention to become a church was on April 20th, 2025, which was Easter of that year. Twenty one of us a gathered together to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. Little did we know that would would be the jumping off point for something much bigger. Our next service wouldn't be until a few weeks later on May 11th, 2025. This was to celebrate Mother's Day, once again little did we know where this would lead. At this point we were just gathering together once or twice a month because we didn't feel welcome anywhere else. We did this one more time on May 25th before we decided that the Lord wasn't calling us to do this temporarily but that he had a greater plan for the newly dubbed Living Word.

A New Church

Starting in June of 2025 we began to have services every week. At Texas A&M there is a saying “Once is fun, Twice is a coincidence, but Three times and it’s a tradition. Well, by this point we had had three services and three lunches so both became part of our Sunday mornings and early afternoons.

Other advances at this time included:

1. Acquiring an altar, pulpit and two small pews.

2. Transforming the back patio into our permanent chapel.

Faithfully Gaining Steam

By the time July had rolled around we were beginning to really gain steam. It was during this time that we started live streaming our services. While there were a few hiccups at first with this process, we soon had it down pat. This is also when we really started to hit our stride with making all of our technology work not only together but for us as well. Lastly it was during this time that we wrote the constitution for our new church.

Other advances at this time included:

1.Bought bulletin making software.

2. Started our fledgling outreach efforts.

The Present

Continuing To Follow The Lord’s Will

This brings us to the current month of August. Like the previous months we have continued to make big strides. The first of which is this website. While it is still under construction, it shows our commitment to this new endeavor that the Lord has placed us on.

Other planned steps forward at this time include:

1. Apply for 501c3 status.

2. Get a bank account and an EIN number.

The Future

We are very excited about the future of Living Word. As the name suggests our goal is to preach and teach the Word of the Lord to all who will listen. To do this we have some big plans and goals that we are aiming for, which include:

1. Find a more permanent place than our back patio. While we love our chapel, we know that not everyone is comfortable coming to a random house to worship. We want to find a place that all will feel welcome walking into.

2. Expand our programs and outreach. Once again we love how things are right now, our services feel like family gatherings because that is what they are. A found family getting together every week to celebrate all that God has done in our lives. We, of course, don’t want to lose this feeling, however we do want to bring more people into it and expand what we offer. Bible studies, children’s programs, Sunday school, trunk or treat, VBS and so on are all on the horizon, but most require us to complete the first goal.
